Kenyan trade minister calls on Qatari investors to invest in his country


Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman HE Mohamed bin Twar Al-Kuwari met on Thursday HE Lawrence Karanja, Minister of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development of the Republic of Kenya at the Chamber’s headquarters.

Deputy Head of Mission of the embassy of Kenya to Qatar HE Washington A. Oloo was also present at the meeting.

The meeting discussed economic and commercial relations between both countries and ways to boosting them, areas of cooperation between the Qatari and Kenyan private sector, as well as reviewing investment opportunities available in Keya in various sectors such as agriculture, industry, and infrastructure.

For his part, H.E. the Kenyan Minister praised the relations between his country and the State of Qatar, calling on Qatari investors to invest in Kenya which is rife with plenty of opportunities in most sectors.

Karanja also said that both countries own tremendous potentials that stimulate fruitful cooperation between them, citing the possibility of organizing a business forum that brings together Qatari and Kenyan businessmen to discuss ways of boosting cooperation and establishing partnerships for the advantage of both countries’ economies.

In turn, HE Mohamed bin Twar stressed that Qatar Chamber supports and encourages bolstering cooperation between companies from both countries and forging alliances between them in various sectors such as agriculture and food security, especially since the State of Qatar places great importance on food security and strives to develop it in a way that in line with the development the state witnesses.
