Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed regional developments, primarily the Palestinian issue, with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in a phone call on Monday.
During the call, the Egyptian president reviewed ongoing efforts to achieve a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, facilitate the exchange of hostages, prisoners, and detainees, and deliver humanitarian aid. He affirmed his country’s support for the peaceful settlement conference and the implementation of the two-state solution, scheduled to be held in New York this June.
For his part, the French president expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s regional role, emphasizing his support for efforts aimed at halting the war in the Gaza Strip and ending the humanitarian crisis there.
